Oh my gosh I am so excited! The pageant starts this FRIDAY in San Jose. I have been busy with some family stuff so I haven’t been able to blog but if I win you can bet I will be sharing lots of details about my exciting reign! Also watch my Instagram as I will be posting pictures there. You can follow the hashtag #nationalamericanmiss and see what others are posting, too!
Last week we had a photo shoot by an amazing photographer from my church’s youth group. She did such a great job, we had a really hard time choosing pictures for the Miss Photogenic contest! I will show you later after the pageant! Thanks Briana!
I hope some of you can come to the pageant finale. It would be so great to have people in the audience! My parents and siblings will be there as well as grandparents. I have never done this before but looking at videos from past events it looks like a really big production! All the contestants will not only find out the results at the finale, but we will also be doing a production number and showing off our evening gowns. I can’t wait!!
Over the 3 days I am going to be competing for all these things which if I win I will be invited to compete at the national pageant in November:
- Personal Introduction
- Formal Wear
- Casual Wear Modeling
I am so excited! I will update again later this week!! THANK YOU for your support!!
As of today, there are only 17 days left until Pageant Weekend and I couldn’t be more excited! That’s a little over two weeks to perfect my speeches, routines, and walks…and it’s been busy! Luckily school is out in 3 days then I can give the pageant my full attention once again.
Last month I was sponsored to be a part of the California State Science Fair, which means a paid-for trip to LA! It was a great experience. I got 6th place in my division of Zoology, and I was also able to find a dress for a reasonable price while I was in the area.
In addition, this week is the dreaded finals week, rumored to be the worst week out of the entire high school experience. My free time has been spent gathering parts of my various outfits, and I have found that outlets are a great place to look for dresses, suits, and accessories without spending too much money.
I also had a garage sale a few weekends ago, and ended up raising a lot of money with the support of family and friends donating items for us to sell. I was so happy to be able to donate $100 to the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter with the money raised. (Thanks everyone!) I just finished getting all of my outfits for pageant weekend, and now all that’s left to do is practice, practice, practice!
I’m so excited to be able to spend more time on the pageant every day now that school is coming to an end. Practice makes perfect, and it makes a HUGE difference when public speaking, or preparing for any category of the competition.
I can’t wait to make new friends and watch all of the preparation come together.
We are having a yard sale! Here’s the ad for it. Can you come? If you have anything to donate to the cause, contact me for drop off or pickup! We are going to have fun and raise money at the same time! Who doesn’t love a good sale!
